THE ITALIAN FOLK ART FEDERATION OF
AMERICA (IFAFA) is a non-profit organization
whose purpose is to preserve and foster interest in
Italian folk art; to research Italian folklore,
traditions, customs, costumes, dances, songs, and
instruments and to bring together Italian folk
performing groups and other interested individuals.
It is an outgrowth of the Italian Folk Art Project
initiated at the Nationalities Service Center of
Philadelphia in 1977. It has about 600 members
including about 20 performing groups from around
America. They put out an informative newsletter.

IFAFA's biennial conference was held October 1,2,3, 1999
in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel.

THE ITALIAN FOLK DANCERS OF MADISON meet every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm at the WilMar Community Center on Jennifer Street in Madison, Wisconsin. The group gives performances, lecture-demonstrations and dance classes. Italian language and cultural classes are offered to children at no charge and to adults for a small fee.
